I watched parts of the Long McArthur Ford in Salina, Ks podcast from last night this morning. They have one every Tuesday evening and give updates on all of Ford's models build status. It's 2 1/2 hours long but I was able to find the portion with the order updates about about 45 or so minutes in. I can't remember everything but the spray bed liner was not mentioned as a hold up. The fifth wheel prep was mentioned as a possible hold up but my Lariat srw got scheduled 5 weeks after my order date and it has it. There was quite a bit of info on the 450's with tire and wheel issues being the hold up. I can't remember it all but that seemed to be the biggy. There's still a backlog of over 18,000 Super Duty orders, more than any other model.

 

Yup, I got one yesterday as well, for my 450 KR ordered on July 19, 2023.......

 

I watch the Long MacArthur podcast every week hoping for some good scheduling news. The 19.5 wheels and or tires have been a constraint on the 450 all model year so far. With multiple viable tires out there I can't believe they don't have a backup plan for them. Heck, they could deliver mine on skis for all I care at this point - I will have Alcoa wheels and decent tires waiting at the dealer to meet it.

 

I feel for everyone still waiting for movement. My 450 KR shipped by rail about 10 days ago to the Texas panhandle. Should be at the dealer any day now.

 

Just got my Dear John letter from Ford last night for both my 450 Platinum orders. 18 months and still waiting.

 

Apparently being built, still says scheduled for next week. Any idea how long they are typically in production on 4/2/24? I was thinking 1-2 days is what I have seen in other posts but not sure.

 

It was about 25k a month ago, and I think 22k last week, so 18k actually shows they have reduced their backlog. It's still amazing to me that they sell so many SD, seemingly above their capacity. I know they have to sell more F150's than SD, but the backlog on those is far less.

The other thing I've noted from the Long Mc weekly video. Ford has an overstock of 6.8 engines and XL trucks, and was forcing them onto dealers. There should be a glut of those as the model year comes to an end. Maybe some good deals will be out there for those who want a work truck.

 

Mine was "In Production" but no date shown just like yours for about 10 days or so. I don't think it is what I would call in production until they give you a date above that dot. Once you've got a date there, you're a few days or a week away from "Built". Maybe depending on if your order includes any outside process such as bed liner. Mine has an "In Production" date of 3/11 and a "Built" date of 3/20, but still hasn't shown as shipped. I'm hopeful for that to update tonight. Ordered on 1/25.

 

Thanks, So it looks like my week of 4/8 is probably more accurate. I new there were some oddities with build date but forgot the details.

 

See the below. Surprised to see this. Built Mar 15, shipped 1 April, final prep 3 Apr 24. With everything I’m hearing about truck shipments out of the plant I’m thinking this is a glitch that it’s at the dealer in 2 days from leaving KTP. If it is I will be shocked. Trying to get a hold of the dealer to see if it’s there. I’m expecting the “it’s not here” answer but hoping for the best.

 

Where is it shipping to? I think it may be there and the shipping date was lagging.

turns out the truck is not at the dealer. It is waiting in Atlanta for transport to our dealer. They said maybe a week or so. Maybe.

 

my build day was for week 4/1; it’s been in production since last week. According to ford chat it’s due for build 4/5-4/7
Hopefully ships soon after.

 

Mine showed in production and built same day.
