For the 4x4 I think staying stock makes sense for me because of the plug and play aspect. No major mods required which adds to the time. Plus you need to flush and change coolant type. And time is money...
the one I got was plug and play, most likely he needs to replace the fluids anyway

Awesome. Which aluminum radiator did you get? Do you have 4x4?
For coolant you'll switch to the aluminum radiator coolant. So either drain or DI flush 2 or three times.
My local radiator shop advised me to stay copper brass and stay with original green coolant. They said the aluminum ones have issues. They have a lot of experience, close to 100 years between the main guys there. They are experienced.
There's several factors to consider. I think plastic tanks are a no no. All aluminum is better but more expensive. Type of core construction is important. My radiator shop advised me to stay original for my vehicle. Depending on the vehicle aluminum can be a good choice and I think they like them for some applications. Coolant flushes are recommended every 2 years for aluminum. Copper and brass can extend coolant life.
