Louisville Decode

Hi guys- I’m new here, haven’t been on a forum in years!

I seem to have started a Louisville collection, and my latest one is a 76 that’s been repowered with a Cummins 290, but I’m curious what it had originally as I suspect a 2 stroke Detroit based on a few clues. Here’s the data plate on the door, if anyone can shed some light I would appreciate it greatly!

Thank You!!!!

All of that makes sense . The truck has been blue and red since it was painted at the factory, and the seats are definitely both a “tobacco brown”

The wheelbase, axles, suspension and transmission are all still original, it seems. The engine is odd though- it was sold to me as having a 400 Cummins and has a big cam aftercooler that was not on a 290. When I run the ESN with Cummins, however, it comes back as a 1980 290 Big Cam. Because the fuel pump numbers don’t match the ESN I suspect it’s been repowered to 400 specs with a newer block. It certainly pulls like a 400.

and the fact that it was ordered out of the Lansing district tells me it’s probably been a Michigan truck it’s whole life. It was on at least 3 different farms prior to me buying it.
