1969 C600

I'm looking at buying a '68 C600 and would like to get more info on it. Here is a picture of the door plate. Sorry the owner missed part of the left side of it. How hard is it to convert these to bud wheels? I hate daytons especially split rims.

Thanks in advance

.

I'm giving you your own thread for clarity and future reference:

This is a 1969.

C61 = C600 gas

D = 330 2V HD FT gas V8

U = Louisville Assembly Plant

F52646 = 1969 numerical series, August 1969 production

111 = 111 inch wheelbase

No color code. Usually part of the special order when missing.

C612 = C600 gas, 23,000 lbs. GVWR. "State of Pa." (Possibly a state of PA vehicle code related note. DSO is Philadelphia)

1291
12 = Light Gray Crush Vinyl & Light Gray Blockweave Vinyl
91 = 91A Standard Cab.

No transmission code--usually part of the special order when not listed.

No rear axle code, again, part of the special order.

D = Ford-Rockwell (Timken) front axle, 7,000 lbs capacity

23000 = 23,000 lbs GVWR

164 3800 = 164 certified net HP @ 3800 RPM

160376
16 = Philadelphia District Sales Office
0376 = Special Order Number

X2. Much less trouble than fiddling with hubs.

ALSO OF SPECIAL INTEREST:

According to others here, the Dayton style setup will allow you to get brake drums. They may need to be cut to the proper width for your brakes, but contrast that with NO brake drums available for the Budd style setup.

Your wheels are probably split locking ring wheels. Safe when handled correctly.
