Having Electrical Issues
Hello All,
I'm having some weird electrical issues all of the sudden. The power windows failed so I checked voltage at the switch and was getting voltage so I replaced the switches. That didn't fix it. Since then the following things have / are happening and I'm not sure where to start.
When the door is open and the key is on we have rapid clicking sounds like a relay rapidly relaying. Video Here
I get the same click when pressing the window switches. Video Here:
The overhead display is severely dimmed and we can't see it.
Trailer wiring harness has stopped working.
My wife says random warning lights pop up while driving but I haven't seen that yet.
Any idea where to start this rabbit hole?

99-07 trucks (and Excursions) are notorious for leaky windshields after 5+ years. The water gets into the fuse box and other electrical components behind the dash.
check your fuse box for corrosion and wetness. Clean up any corrosion found and dry out using a hair dryer on high. Also check your carpet padding. Minor leaks won’t be easily seen. Major leaks will have puddles form.
its a frustrating and painful experience. If you find it’s leaking, only fix is windshield reseal
