Hey everyone. New here to the forums. I have a 2003 F-250 Super Duty w/ the Lariat Package. I have an issue with a parasitic draw that I'm having trouble tracking down. On the way to tracing it down I've replaced an alternator with a faulty diode, replaced both batteries, and finally got around to fixing my dimmer switch. After I fixed that, I noticed that my door buttons were lit even though the key was out and the door was opened to kill the power. So I decided to try to roll down the window. Low and behold, the windows go up and down even after I kill the power, and the door buttons remain lit. I think this is where my draw is coming from. So I closed everything and locked it up, and let it sit for a few hours. I came out and the windows still operated and the buttons were still lit. The dome lights and all that jive are off so the delay relay seems to be working fine. I have no idea where to start with tracing this thing. If someone could give me a starting point, maybe a relay or something that would be great. I've already checked the fuses and they are good. I've also pulled my GEM and that loots to be fine as well. Thanks.
You can check for a parasitic drain with a meter but you have to be careful not to fry it or blow the fuse. Not your exact vehicle but a good video demonstrating how to diagnose...
Yeah, I've been going through every circuit doing that. I think I might have it narrowed down to the accessory delay. I got pissed and punched the fuse box and viola, windows work right and my buzzer stopped. Btw the key in ignition buzzer wouldn't knock it off even though the key wasn't in. So now I'm waiting for all the systems to power back down again so I can go check it out. Thanks for the timely response. I will post the results when I get them.
