Hey all,
Received my vLinker FS and downloaded the FORScan Lite on my iPhone. Got it to connect to my phone with no problem.

Am I good to go? Please let me know what I need to do next to give you guys the information you need.

Thanks, David

David, click in the first link in post #11, set up FSL, test the data log for erroneous readings and then save a data log as a .csv.

You can then post snips of the data log, screen shots of the data log or the virtual PID gauges or relay the readings to us that are requested.

I believe the link provides a PID to monitor TC lock and unlock, if not we can help getting that set up.

Almost there Dave!

No problem at all, every one of us that uses FORScan was in your shoes at some point. I am no expert, but I know my way around pretty well and can produce the results I am looking for.

You will need to head over to the FORScan Q&A thread by clicking here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post19511825

That link takes you right to a post by BWST with PID's you will want to add to your "dashboard" including TC-Slip. Once you have those set up, you will want to go to this post: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post19511860

This will teach you how to display the PID's live from the PCM, stop the feed and then immediately save the .csv file for further dissection. The snip below is what the .csv data file will look like. This is a great tool to view the PCM data points by the ms, but is sometimes overwhelming with way too much data.

Once you have a .csv file, you can email it or post it here and one of us can help you look at the data cells for an anomaly or input the data points into the PID Charting Tool and produce something like seen below.

Lastly, if I am off base here with providing advice to David in regards to which PID's the others have been looking for, please correct me. I am not sure what others are looking for other than the TC Slip PID.

I think the first thing we are after is just driving the truck while live monitoring. Dave you should be able to see what is happening at the time of harsh shift. For example is it when it changes from 3-4 or does it occur when it goes to LU ON (lockup)?

Obviously be careful and don’t take your eyes off the road too much. My Edge display is in line with the windshield view so I can see it change out of the corner of my eye. It’s best if you can have a copilot watching the monitor for you.

When I go to PID profile this is all I see. Can’t find anything about TC.

I'm embarrassed at how little I understand about what I am doing here so I apologize.

I connected the module to my phone and drove a few miles. Nothing appeared on the Dashboard, Table or Graph. I am positive I am doing something wrong.......

I would encourage you to go back and read the Q&A post I linked by BWST. It spells out how to connect FSL, set up the PID's (parameters), how to start viewing/logging the PID's, save the data log and export the data log.

You will set up the PID's like ICP, IPR DC, etc. Push the play button in the top right, log the data file, press the stop button in the top right, press the three dots in the top right and save as a .csv.

I apologize for not knowing where "TC_Slip" is at, I have a ZF6. Perhaps @BWST can help point you in the right direction.

Where are you located roughly in SC? I am in Hartwell GA which is near Andersen or Clemson SC.

Thanks Sous, I re-read the instructions. Maybe it's a difference in iPhone and Android but what I see and the directions looks nothing like the app I have on my phone so I'm digging around a bit.

I'll post some screen shots shortly. I am no longer in SC, I moved to Hickory NC a few years ago.

What happens when you push the connect button?

Is there a green car in the top left? The color of the car changes based on the connection status.

If FSL is successfully connected, you can push the dashboard icon and select your PID's.

Try to get there and let us know when you have or you are unable.

Looking closer at the image you posted, I bet the small icons in the bottom middle represent the connection status.

You must connect to the OBDII adapter through the phone, then connect to the PCM with the ignition in ON position with the engine OFF. Later, you will be able to connect with the engine ON, but initially it is safer with the engine OFF.

I was able to connect successfully with the ignition on/engine off. When I press the Dashboard button it's just a blank screen.

Sorry to be such a PITA.

I switched over to my iPad and see things I did not see on my iPhone. I selected a few
PIDs, connected and drove the truck. I saved a very long list and below is a snapshot. The entire list shows No Fault. Is this getting closer to the info you guys wanted?

Your not a PITA, you are making a valiant effort to help yourself.

Yes, you are getting close!

In the dashboard screen, that is blank. Is there a gear icon or anything that gets you to a + symbol that will allow you to select PCM and then subsequent PID's like ICP?

You appear to have successfully selected TC_slipact, but we would like to see MFDES, RPM, MPH and anything else associated with the abnormal shift conditions.
