Can anyone point me to the algorithm that activates the check engine light. I have only a correlation. If I work it hard going up a hill, the light comes on. When I coast down the other side, the light goes off. Engine and trans temp does not change. I never leaves an error message.
I get that as well when pulling hard up hill with tuner in 60 HP tow tune.. have check codes during and after and no code at least on torque app i can find. have a boost fooler on but it still does it..
have checked HP oil pressure and its steady the whole time.. now i just down shift and let her rip.. 2-2200 is the sweet spot.. pulls like a freight train.. loving it here on alaskan highway,, but not liking all the frost heaves west of destruction bay.. OOOMMMGG.. some are like foot and half high.. WOW.. heading to Tok and Delta junction to get my certificate for surviving the alcan..

TorquePro app is terrible at everything except looking pretty, when it works that is. Get FORScan Lite for $5 or PC version for free and check the codes again, it will be there.

I have AutoEnginuity. $150 for the basic and another $300 for the add-on. It doesn't produce codes, it produces text.
And two quad, live display units whose brand escapes me at the moment.
I'll try looking at some other things live.
But I really want the algorithm. Is it impossible to know what is in the computer?

You need the codes if you want to fix this. Get Forscan.

There are many algorithms that turn on the check engine light. There are probably about 70 or so codes that can turn it on, and each one has it's own set of algorithms.
Sorry, but saying you have AE is akin to saying, but I prefer to use DOS after the iphone 24Super+ came out. You're talking technology that was dated over 10 years ago. Yes it's better than only knowing that the engine light is on, but it can't do what the current apps can do.
Like Sous said, if Torque even decides to work, it looks pretty, until it randomly shuts off the motor for no reason while driving down the highway and then self deletes all your pretty screen settings and pids and reverts to factory setup. For troubleshooting and logging tho, use the humble looking and free forscan
Can you read live data from the truck? If it is under load while it happens, it could a high pressure oil issue that pops the code.
I have been reading injection control pressure, I think that is what it is called. It is a five digit number, and the first two digits kinda track the two digit MAP.
