2017 f150 King ranch.
Done some searching through the forums about wipers not being able to turn off and saw that the multi function switch goes bad. Seems like a very common problem. So I switched it out with a new one and still have the same problem. Has anyone else not see this issue fixed by replacing the switch and if so any other ideas. It running every 15 seconds is driving me crazy.
thanks
I has the same thing happen on mine. I replaced the turn signal lever/wiper switch with an OEM one that I bought at the local dealer parts counter. You may want to try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to see if that helps.
Here's a link to the thread I made when i replaced mine.
First off that was an excellent write up. Thank you. That's exactly what I did. But I'm still having the problem. Brand new multifunction switch replaced it same way you described it. The only thing I haven't tried yet that I will is to disconnect the battery for a little bit.
No. Everything works as normal until I turn the wipers off. Then they do a single pass about every 15 seconds.
Yes,, I just started having the same problem on my 2018 today. In the off position they still run at the slowest intermittent speed. I'm going to try pulling the battery cable first.
My 2018 just started having this problem and was thinking here we go again. I had a 1999 F150 and it developed the same problem. Turns out that over time the contact areas wear and you end up with fine metal particles that cause the switch to short on the wiper control. There were writeups on how to disassemble and clean it but that was just a temporary fix. I ended up replacing the whole multi switch assembly and that work. Looks like I'm in the marked for a new lever switch assembly.
You think Ford would have come up with a better design by now.
