wiper problem

hey, guys this is my first post so bear with me i have a 1984 f-150 and im having some wiper problems!out of stupidity i forgot and left my delay on in the winter of course the next morn there was ice on the windshield and anyway to make a long story short the delay altogether quit and wipers would work then slow down to a drag so i replaced the switch same problem then i got a wiper motor for free from a friend off of i think a 78 model anyway now they work but will not shut off its like they are on low on delay/off/low and high works fine if anyone has any ideas or possibly knows what the problem is it would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!

wiper problem

if you follow the wires from your wiper switch. you will find the delay controler. it just plugs inline with the wiper switch. remove it from your system and see if that cures your problem. if it does just replace it. when you unplug the delay control on eachend, the wires will plug directly on to the wiper switch.

wiper problem

I had the same problem. the thing you have to watch out for is the switches are different for intermittent and regular wipers. If you junk the delay bowich is very expensive) and run normal wipers you should change the switch. There is a thermal circuit breaker in the delay box but is in the switch in regular wipers. It only ran about $25 at for for the regular switch.(beats an electrical fire)

wiper problem

hey guys still have problem i removed delay box and i had reg switch laying around so i put it in and still the wipers stay on any ideas anyone
