Any updates here on the camera?
Mine just started acting up. All the camera views work except the chmsl on mine. (of course it's the most important to me) When I touch the screen for that one it does nothing. All the other ones are working fine when touched on the screen.
I have a feeling it may be in a connection as it quit working a while back and then just started working again after some driving around and hitting a few rough roads for a week or so.
Some mentioned heat....I'm in Phoenix area so yea....plenty of heat bearing down on me.
I haven't started chasing wires/ connectors yet but getting ready to. Any heads up on the connector in the rear around the spare? What am I looking for here?
Any heads up on the best place to acquire a new camera if needed?
Thanks in advance
My 2021 has the same issue. However, it works early in the morning and once it warms up, it no longer works. Must be some connectivity issue when it warms up that causes it to loose connection. Haven't had time to mess with it.
Unfortunately I'll be out of town for a week and won't get to mess with it till my return.
I'll keep this thread updated then and see if we can't figure it out.
Sounds like I am not the only one with this problem.
I hate going back to the dealer. I'm out of warranty and just can't trust that someone with the knowledge will be diagnosing my problem.
I fiddled with mine and the connections and resetting sync and whatnot. Ended up replacing the camera and all is well. Put old one back to test and it stops working again.

Ironically I went for a short drive this eve after the sun went down and it was a bit cooler out (under 100) and the chmsl started working again. So this heat thing may be part of the problem.
When I return next week I'll have a little more time to mess with it but believe replacing the camera is in my future.

Did you ever get this sorted? Mine just started acting up.
For those of you that are having camera issues and are not covered by warranty, check these guys out.
I installed the camera in the link and it works great with much better resolution. the only downside (if it really matters) is the lack of the white centerline. Although I suspect the cost is a bit higher than OEM.
So I just returned from a travel trip. Had to wheel the trailer over for a little repair this morning. Backed up to hook up and the chmsl is working fine for now again.
Cooler here in the valley for now also. I still believe the heat may have something to do with working (not working).
I'm going to shop around for new camera still and will probably change it out soon at some point.
Appreciate the lead from Great Danes. I'll do some more research and chime in after I've made my decision.
Thanks for the help.
I just ordered the same camera. It's cheap enough so I thought id give it a shot. My truck is still under warranty, but for this money it's not worth the aggravation of dealing with the dealer.
Price slashed and hard to beat right now. Ford OEM part was correct with a manufactured date of 8-2024.
Literally took all of about 10 minutes to change it out and that included pulling one car out and pulling the truck in.
You'll need a T-10 star bit to get the 2 screws out holding the camera in. The exterior screws have a few options but I used a T-20 star to get them out.
You'll need to reuse the silicone seal attached on the old camera. Very easy off the old and on the new.
No signs of moisture or leaking just what I believe to be a bad camera.
If I had taken into a dealership probably would have cost me 4 times what I paid for the camera.
The old camera was not working when I removed it and after installing the new camera it began working instantly and the picture is much clearer.
Hope my experience helps anyone else out there with a similar situation.
We'll see how long this one lasts!
edit: Went for a short drive to pick a couple things up and naturally wanted to check the camera out and make sure it wasn't just a dream! Camera still functioning as it should, however, I did notice this time that the dashed line down the center is missing. No big deal for me. Actually like it better without the line.
2nd edit: Yesterday was the first I hooked up my 5th wheel. Camera still works fine. However, one other thing that popped up with my new camera, it does not have the magnifier either! The + button is there but when I push it nothing happens. Headed out for a week and when I return I'll contact the place I got the camera from and talk to them about it.
Again, not a big deal for me, however I did use that function a lot when backing to hook up.
3rd edit: Texted with myfordpart where I got the camera and they told me I'll have to take the truck into somewhere (dealer) who has forscan to program the dashed line and the plus button into the system.

Did you lose the lines when you replaced the camera? I had the same problem and replaced mine and now it works great, but I lost the guidance dotted line. Does anyone know what is entailed to calibrate the camera?

Thanks, I didn't read your post to the end. I foud the process from another fourm and am going to attempt the process with Forscan today.
Let us know how it works out. I really don't want to take it to the dealer if I don't need to. I'm not familiar with how forscan works other than it's some type of programing software?
