Identified the ageing gaskets around my windshield wipers as probable source of a water leak in my 71 f100. While the gaskets are cheap to acquire and rudimentary inspection indicates it won't be cheap on time and effort.
Best I can tell, the heater box/vent will need to go on the passenger side. Have not really determined the challenges on the driver's side. Just had the truck rewired the first of the year and really don't want to cause issues there.
So I am seeking suggestions on this process.
The wiper linkage is behind everything. I just recently realized that I had installed my wiper linkage backwards while correcting a wiring issue. I already had the glove box and heater out to fix the blower motor wiring. When I went to pull out the wiper motor, I noticed the wiper linkage. After that I removed everything(heater controls, radio, speaker, ash tray, and instrument panel. Sounds like a pain but to me it was easier with the extra room and it was still a pain to get out. It was very annoying since since I had the truck completely gutted for paint.
