Is this unit plug n play? Or does it require an adapter?
you need the standard metra harness and such like usual, of course it does not have ford plugs on the back of it, but the 2 pieces to convert it make it almost plug and play.
lots of life has passed, doctor appointments, maintenance on the truck, and really hot Wx.
the Hot Wx is what caught my attention, and moved the A/C up to #1 Priority
Got a start on that, and now waiting on parts, so thought I would get back to the Xtrons radio.
Two things really are pissing me off, bigtime.
1) the screen won't rotate ( needs power? rotates on command? )
..... not one word in the manual that mentions being able to rotate the screen.
..... never mind, that the Advert says what I bought is a rotable screen.
2) getting the Radio to interface with the Truck is a nightmare.
anything but, Plug 'n Play....
the Instructions show the outputs, but the connectors are impossible to match up with.
look at this for the Power / Speakers...
The black plug is from the radio, what is it supposed to match up with?
the White plug, is a "Plug 'n Play" adapter for Ford vehicles, with bare leads, color coded, but no labels.
This is the reverse of the White adapter plug.
According to the Diagram on the side of the radio, in minature print of course, that Black socket is supposed to plug into the truck's harness.
I am now so late from the time I ordered this thing, that I can't send it back.

where did you get the cord from? i used the metra install kit and had no issues with the wiring, there was a booklet in the box that covered all the wires, and you just connect both of the two halfs togeather, the radios piece, and the piece from metra and it went in easy....
