Show me your Android Stereo
Post pics if you got em.
it seems to work okay,
typical of most, you plug a USB cord into the phone's C connector, and then the radio sees that, and displays your phone's Apps on the screen.
the AM/FM does what most do, fizzes out when you drive out of range.
I use the Spotify or iHeart apps on the cellphone to get music that never quits while driving, one hell of a lot cheaper than Sirrus
Xtrons makes some good ones, and for the excursion or F250s the 10 inch double din fits perfectly without blocking the A/C controls, or the vents.
Just make sure to get the ones with 4 GB RAM or more, or they are a bit slow, the 4GB I have is decently fast, and i actually installed a USB connected OBDLink EX+ for using the Torque Pro app, and i added a 4G modem to mine as well so it has its own data connection.
I also attached a 256 GB USB SSD to the back of it to store music, movies, etc. They have 3-4 USB ports depending on the model, and as you can see on my dash, the Blue USB ports go to the back of the unit, so i can plug things in and out without having to dig in the dash.
and, since I have a CTS-3, those monitor functions are not needed.
agree, that IF, he wants a unit that runs Android, mine is not it.
it is a receiver with a USB cord to enable the Android or iPhone to work with it
mine is obsolete today already anyway, just got off the phone with Crutchfield looking for an install kit, that radio is not in their Inventory
the EMS folks keep finding people with their knees crushed thru their hearts and breaking their Spines, instant Death.
IF, the ABS bag goes off.
I am retired Fire so very sensitive to seeing these things in pictures,
consider it a duty to inform when I find them.
my lady left us 2/2017 diabetes is terminal if not found in time

getting ready to move my existing 7" Dual flat screen radio from the old broken dash over to a "brand new" looking Eddie Bauer dash.
If I continue to install the Dual in the dash, will this Xtrons unit fit the same opening?
the bottom edge of the opening has to be trimmed down about a 1/4 inch to get the Dual to fit.
my new dash, hate to cover it up.
when removing the Dash from the truck,
should you start from the Left Side,
or the Right Side?
I have the Steering Wheel off right now, because I found a "new looking" replacement, it is obvious that pulling the wheel makes it a lot easier to access the Dash panel.

On your unit, where you able to adjust the height of the screen? If I get the rotatable, I would probably use it more in the vertical position, but will want to adjust the height so the bottom of the screen is aligned with the bottom of the double din opening.

but I finally gave in to my "inner desires"
and ordered that radio.
to find out it is coming from England?
what pushed me over the edge of precipice,
1) no darn cords hooked to my cellphone
2) the Garmin 7" GPS can stay in the Suburban
3) I can get a SIM from T-Mobile and it will be on the internet
4) Torque Pro will show the immediate KEON stats for RPM and ICP, whereas the Edge CTS-3 won't wake up until the engine is running

5) and it just looks cute.... my daughter will love having it display Butterflies while we are on the road
My radio is the model from a year or two ago, it looks pretty much identical but mine does not rotate vertical, only the newer version does, mine just tilts around.
One little tip, don't lock the radio into place when you first push it in, slide it in but leave it unlocked, because twice i had to tighten connections, or decided to change something i had connected to it. I actually never put the locking plate on mine, i just dremeled the upper lip just enough that it fits really tightly, and that holds it in sufficiently, but makes it easy to pull out if i need change something.
Most of the mounting kits, Metra, Etc, once you lock it in, it is a PITA to get it back out again...
Also, i strongly recommend you get one of these, to bring 2 of its USB ports to a place on the dash face of your choice, that way you don't have to dig under the dash or slide it out to plug in a flash drive, or other accessories.
Do not remove your aux power port to put this in its place however, as the radio's usb ports do not put out adequate power to charge phones, etc, they are for accessories, like flash drives to load movies, musics, etc onto the head unit, plugging in OBDII cables, etc.
Another tip, is if you get the wired OBDLink EX like i did, to monitor the truck, put a extension cord in line and put the junction under the dash where you can reach it, every once in a while the OBDLink needs to be rebooted, maybe once or twice a month, and to do that you have to unplug the USB cable, if you don't follow this tip, that would possibly mean pulling the radio out, so putting a easy to reach junction by using a short usb extension will save you cussing up a storm later.
To make the OBDLink not stick out into the foot well while plugged in full time, you could dismount the obd port and move it, but inspection people might not like that, so i used one of these to right angle it away and no more knee knocker problem.
