I've been away from this board for quite a while but I'm returning for some help. My `00 F-350 started showing the ABS warning light on a trip to the NSRA Nats this summer. It was intermittent but is now on at all times. The brakes feel fine and I pulled the wheels and all the pads are good and show even wear. My son's light is also on in his similar truck. Any ideas?
Check the speed sensor ( on top of the rear differential) or the wheel sensors. My 00 CC PSD did the same thing and the speed sensor was the culprit. Hope this helps
same thing happened to me. abs on. no blinkers no heater, no high beam, no spedo. I changed the vss now the heater works and the highbeams work but still no spedo. what shouls i check next
Here's what happened to me. No cruise control, heater fan continuing to run after ignition switched off and key removed, ABS light on, passenger airbag light wouldn't come on and run through it's self test when key turned on, SRS chimes going off in cab, and remote entry works intermittently. Changed VSS with CC working on road test but inop after that. Yesterday went and scanned the computer, no fault codes. Pulled all the connectors off and looked them over and reconnected. Now everything works fine. So, loose connector, wire loose, bad connection, don't know. Wish it was something that I could have had a definite fix on. Since I don't know what exactly cured it, I have to drive around with the thought in the back of my mind that this could start all over again. Dealer suggested keeping a tube of dielectric grease around and applying it to any connectors I may remove in the future. Corrosion and bad grounds most common electrical problem. Good luck with yours.
