Can the Predator scanner show the DTC codes when a ABS sensor fails? My ABS light is on and when I hook up the Predator no fault code registers. I have tried to unhook and rehook the sensors all around with no luck on turning the ABS light off. If there is another way to check the sensors I would like to know how. I guess an Ohm reading would be the bes bet.
Any advice would be appreciated.
my light is also on.....replace rear sensor cause it was the cheapest..didnt help
your predator wont show abs codes because they are on another system i think GEM i think it is behind the passenger kick panel....
i am gonna try and get my truck somewhere monday and have them read the code...i will post back what they find
p.s i read somewhere you can put ypur truck on jackstands and roll the wheel and see if you get a voltage reading i think it should be like 4.5 volts but cant remember for sure

not2litl: I have a newer post out there on this issue. I did not see this one or would have asked my questions under this post. I am curious, did you ever find out your problem and how did you fix it. I am having the same problem. I my other post, someone told me to change the rear sensor also. I also have the predator and not able to read the code ABS. I did however finally get a code of P0500 Vehicle speed sensor A.
did you get that code from predator? ...cause i havent been able to retrieve a code...i have an appointment tommorrow for the dealership will post their findings
after a little more research.....i plugged in the predator and then diagnostics trans.....notice 2 speed sensors were showing voltage one was showing open.....got it back from Ford and they said it was the front right speed sensor...
I just went to Ford today and described what was happening to the parts guy and he said it sounded like the rear sensor. I bought one. Its raining like crazy here. I will put it on when it dries up. What do you think about this being the right one. I hate to replace it and not be the problem. Thats being just like the Ford guys. They keep replacing items until its fixed and charge you for all of it.

Usually if its the rear sensor your speedometer will act erratic and your cruise control will not function. I did an Ohm and a roll out test on my front wheels and found that the right sensor was bad.
The roll out test was just raising the front of the truck and rotating each wheel until the abs light came on. The sensors react to decelleration during a rapid stop to engage the anti lock system. At least this is the way I have interpreted it from the operation description in the service manual.
