i have the switch replaced on the Master cylinder. Still no power to that switch.
My question: Does the 2004 have 2 separate switches mounted on the Brake Peddle under the dash?
I haven't found specific info on this and getting up under the dash I can't see much of the hardware mounted and operated by the brake peddle.
Example: I've seen examples of 2 switches on the brake peddle. 1 is for allowing Shifter to move, activate brake lights, the 2nd is to deactivate the cruise control when brake is pushed.
I've done the tests and the error shows 2 flashes - BPP defective, circuit is defective, brake applied, CPP switch or jumper (if equipped).
Do I need to dig out the switch for cruise control from brake peddle area or am I looking in the wrong direction.
Information I've found is confusing. Autozone list the part for $20 for my 2004 Excursion. This is the part they list: Duralast Cruise Control Release Switch F4045
Without getting under my dash, is this a valid part used in the 2004 Excursion? Has anyone else had success fixing the Cruise Control issue by replacing this switch?
The diagrams in post #2 are not going to help you. The correct diagram is below.

That switch isn't used on the Excursion, regardless of what the parts purveyors indicate.

If you don't have power to and through the brake pressure switch on the master cylinder, the switch under the dash doesn't matter, at least, not yet. Fix the obvious problem first with the power feed from F24 (HOT IN RUN) to the brake pressure switch. Oh, and make sure you have the ignition switch in RUN when checking for power there... Once that is resolved, then you can proceed to the BPP switch, if necessary.
