Hey guys and gals I just wanted to pop my head in and say hi in case any of y'all missed me.
The shop that I had been working at for the past fifteen years semi abruptly sold the property that the shop was on and I found myself scrambling to get everything of mine and others moved out before escrow closed on April first, and it was no April fool's joke .
Next day I found myself unemployed and enjoyed a week off trying to find a place to put everything that came home from the shop. I was able to keep a few cool tools like a full size shop compressor, shop press, and an early Ammco brake lathe, among other goodies.
Since then I think I have found my dream job.
I am working for a little place called JBA performance and speed shop, some of you have probably heard of their headers. Well they have a whole shop catering to 60-70's American muscle cars, trucks, and actual racecars. With a complete machine shop on site and a wharehouse full of used speed parts. I have my FE for my 63 project in already and have been working for two weeks, making more money than before.
I'll add a couple pictures of what I have been working on. Cobra 427 Early 70's Cobra reproduction Racecar spelled backwards is racecar
As the old adage goes, one door closes and another opens. Glad it has worked out and seemingly for the better. Am sure it was a bit stressful too. Speaking from experience, I'd had a hard time concentrating in there. Good luck with the new job!
I had the pleasure to meet Jay Bittle at the Tulsa Mid America Mustang /Shelby meet in 09. I have a set of his shorties on my 67XL . I told him how good they fit my car with the 32 valve 4.6 engine and the 92 CV front frame clip. He then said he wanted to see it and took about 10 pictures of the setup. Quite an honor.
Good luck with your new job!
