Just rented a 50x50 foot shop about 40 minutes from me. Large doors, 200VAC, air compressor, large lift, etc. Now I have enough room to bring my "stash" back from SoCal. Maybe now I can get my remaining projects finished up and play some golf!
I have the whole shop...cars and other "treasures" currently stored in there will be removed prior to the first of the month. Guy who built it was a heavy equipment mechanic but got a divorce before he could set up his business. Current owner bought the property for the house and did not need the shop. No strings...even the electricity is included in the rent.
I have been in the market for a garage/shop ever since moving to the Nashville area some 16 months ago. When we bought our current home we opted for comfort/livability over acreage so building a shop on our current lot is not an option. As is the case with most of the country, real estate prices are skyrocketing. Buying an acre of land to build on is almost out of the question, even if you could find an acre of land for sale. This changes my plans for moving my stash from SoCal...what I thought that I needed to liquidate, I can now afford to relocate. I have a 56 F100 BBW that needs assembly...rather than selling it for a loss in San Diego, I can now bring it to the new shop and get in looking more like a running truck. Might have to get a swap meet space next to Kevin at the next F100 Grand Nationals!
Dturk...you are always welcome, the shop is about halfway between I65 and 31A around the Bear Creek exit...I'll probably come down 31A to Pyles Rd. Construction on I65 is a bear right now.

Congratulations Chuck. I was out that way yesterday. I went to a cruise in in Huntsville and off 840 Waze routed me down 431 to HWY 99 coming out at exit 46 off I-65 at the LOVE's truck stop. If you need any help arranging stuff give me a shout. Glad you were able to locate something
Took possession of the shop today after some delays in getting it cleared out and ready to occupy. Here is what it looks like just prior to pressure washing the floors...lift is 12K lbs and works good, PO left a trans jack and parts cleaning tank. Doors are 12 ft wide and 14 ft high. Will be bringing one of the 56 F100s back at the end of the month, still working on the other. Pretty excited to finally have a place to work!

You were about a mile from me; one mile south of I-840 on US-431(first traffic signal) then one mile west.
Chuck, if you need help off loading when you get back, PM me and if available, I’ll come on down to Columbia to help out. If I get my new, rear four link issue resolved, I’ll drive the truck down.
Safe travels back! If you’re taking I-40 back, a good gas up point was around Barstow somewhere around where the I-15 broke off going north. But check the “gas buddy” app for real time prices.
