Window regulator power

Ok so I need to replace both power regulators in my 89. I have read so many posts and I'm still confused.
When I bought the truck the d/s window was stuck down. I found a poorly connected blue wire wich did allow me to get the window albeit very slow and squeaky. Than I rolled the passenger all the way down and it would not go up.
So I bought both regulators with motors. The new ones were inexpensive and have a much smaller motor.
My main question is how do you remove the factory regulator from the inside of the door? Factory regulator is just floating there, window held up with a 2x4. Regulator is lose inside the door. Do I need to remove the motor first than I can pull the regulator out? Thanks
Btw the passenger side failed because when I rolled it down all the way the pivoting plastic piece let lose .

I’m confused. Unless the glass is binding up, what does the regulator have to do with the window going up and/or down? It is a two wire circuit so do you have power on one side of the motor to lower the door and then on the other side to go up? If the motors test good I would reuse the OEM motors.

The regulator comes out of the large hole in the inner door shin. You will never get the regulator out with the 2x4 in the way. Either remove the glass or hold it up with duct tape

I clearly know it won't come out with the 2x4 in the way lol it's just there to temporarily hold the window up. I already have new regulators.
mostly I need to know if I need to remove the motor from the factory regulator to get it out of the door?
I will certainly keep the original and re-build it.
Any grease recommend for the slide part. The new ones are greased on the gear. Dorman BTW
Thanks

Then I don’t understand the problem. Dorman will more than likely be garbage right out of the box. I obviously cannot see what is going on but don’t believe you have a regulator problem. Old/ damaged weatherstripping can make the window squeak when moving up and down.

White lithium.

Weather stripping is gone, door panel gone,I have gutted the door except for the old regulator, door handle and power lock solonoid. I can move it all around inside the door, just seems like it is to big with the motor connected? I can and will remove the motor from the regulator if I have to.
Thanks

Yes, the motor must be off the regulator to get it out of the door

Nah it's been raining all week and the truck is 15 miles away, I'm not in that much of hurry, that's why I have a 2x4 holding up the window lol

You know about the divots to drill right?
The procedure is to drill those with a 1/2-inch bit and remove the motor bolts thru the holes you drill
Then you can take the regulator out

Yes but thank you , i have it ready to remove even the arm rest, it's loose, just can't find the angle of the dangle to get it out LoL. I did not remove the motor from the regulator and I should have while it was easy to access (ie still riveted in, remove motor, than pull the regulator) this is one of my first of this style,

No. Use the correct peel rivets on the regulator and glass
