What's up fellas, bit of disappointing news this morning. About a week ago I was driving to work and the truck started running rough, it almost felt like the front wheels were out of balance and it only happened at certain speeds (rpm)
Last year my passenger side uvch came loose and I was in a hurry so I just pushed the connector back in. I figured the uvch worked it's way loose and caused the miss/CEL.
Yesterday and today I changed glow plugs and uvch harnesses. Both sides were loose, passenger side almost off and I thought for sure that was the problem.
Started up the truck after and problem is still there. Could it be an injector? The truck had sat for months, I'm not sure if that would contribute to anything.
Just wondering what my next course of action should be. Buzz test?
Do you have any codes? Buzz test can't hurt, though I'd check for any codes and run a cylinder contribution test too. 8 usually doesn't pass on my truck, but when I had a nasty miss #3 failed too so I knew something was up with that injector.

Yeah I have a check engine light and a 1316 code.
The miss is minor but noticeable. Can I do damage by driving like this?

I guess you did have that info in the title...
1316 is an IDM code, not an expert on it but could be a short somewhere. I think if you run a buzz test it may give you more specific info on which cylinder is acting up.

Run the KOEO Injector Electrical Self test (buzz test) and see what it spits out. Should give you what injectors it's complaining about from that P1316 IDM code.
You'll want to ohm out the uvch, the injectors themselves, and/or at the 42 pin to isolate the issue. It's been a bit since I've done this, I ended up having a mechanical failure not electrical with an injector so didn't see the process through to the end for electrical troubleshooting. Others with more experience will no doubt weigh in. Best of luck!

OK, ohmed out the passenger side UVCH. (something I should have done with the valve covers off but I digress....

I got an ohm reading of 3.8 ish between C and I1, C&I2, C&I4. I was not able to get any measurements between C and I3. Like as if it was an open circuit. Mind you this was after replacing the uvch harnesses already.
Sorry for asking to be spoon fed, but what should I be checking next? Should I order a replacement injector? Solenoid?
