I received my ordering email info for the reservation I’ve had for almost 2 years. I’m about to order my new f150 Lightning. Yay.. well I can’t get too excited yet! because my local Dealer wants another 10k on top of MSRP! I know, Ridiculous.. but this is what I expected from the worst Ford dealer in The entire nation..
With that said, someone at corporate got smart and they now allow you to switch dealers and keep your spot in line. So I found a dealer that will sell to me for MSRP. It’s far away but does that really matter? So now I have to wait another 14 days before I place my order so they can switch dealers. I have no idea why it takes so long!! Well my time is about up before my order window closes on the 24th.
It kinda takes the fun away from spending 100k on a new truck.
hopefully I get to order this week.
I heard that some options will hold up the build is that true? Like spray in Bedliner and power steps.. then I need to decide on a color..
I will be using the truck 100% for work. I’ll be towing my pressure washing equipment, like I have been in my E Series vans for the past 2.5 decades.
In a similar situation if I'd have not been so pissed at such BS and just walked away from the deal completely I'd have done the same as you, vote or speak through my wallet. For that addtional $10K you can travel quite a distance I'm sure--and do knowing you've shown your thoughts on price gouging--good on ya!
I found a way better deal, on a New never titled Demo from a dealer in Texas.
Listen to this....
2022 ER Lariat with max tow pkg and Spray in liner. MSRP $79,054.
+Destination 1,695.00
So that "22 Demo qualifies for the tax credit of $7,500. (MSRP -Destination <80k) Whereas the New "23 ER lariat wouldn't and be 10k MSRP more.
Plus I got 5k off MSRP. That's $22,500 less for the same truck! Brand new! (Depending on your tax bracket).
I took this deal over my order. Saved $$ Delivery was last week. Not to mention the extra 10K my local Dealer was Charging on my order "GS Ford" that would of been 25k saving plus the additional 7,500. $32,500 total savings in that case.
If anyone needs help / advice or how to find one of these pm me.

Reason: tax explain
Very NICE! Sounds like you made out on the deal. I think you made the right call. As a recent victim of the market shifting with Tesla's price cuts, I try to caution everyone against paying top dollar for volume models. As soon as supply exceeds demand, prices will have to adjust and those who paid dealer markup will be left holding the bag.
I bought my car after prices were starting to decline last December, but they were a long way from where they're at now. You did good by finding a deal on the demo unit, and I'm curious to hear how you like it.
I'd be so impressed if America just pumped the brakes for a few months and forced the manufacturers, the dealers and their financing partners to re-think their strategies.
On the original post, 7% interest on a 90K purchase is ludicrous.
Not intending to throw cold water on this but damn, we need to push back.
Well done sir on some very savvy shopping!

That's indeed the only way to get Ford's etc attention---let 'em eat what BS they've created for a while and watch the price and terms come tumbling down
But yeah Cali108 nice new truck and crafty purchasing!
