Order Tracking

Hi all, first post on the site. I ordered a 2022 F-250 back on 9/10 and the communication with the dealer hasn't been great. Looks like they never put my email in the order because I don't get any of the updates directly from Ford. They took a 1K deposit that day and I signed my build sheet with all my customization. After not getting anything for a few weeks, I called the manager a few times and finally got the attached. Got silence again until they asked me for a copy of my license on 10/4 for what I assume was the COVP. I asked today how many orders were ahead of me today and they said 6 Super Dutys were ahead of me. Did the time it took for them to request my ID go to waste? Any thoughts on the my build sheet? I'm also going to be on the X plan so not sure if that's the reason I'm not getting good response from the dealer.

Talked to them today and they said there were still 6 Super Dutys ahead of me before my order is picked up, bur they told me they didn't know what priority codes they were when I asked. Anyone know if the month between the order and Ford doing the COVP was lost since they didn't have it from the beginning? I am going to be getting X plan pricing so not sure if that's why communication has been so bad with the dealer.

JK,

if you signed that order as presented you have no “”X plan.” It is specifically “N/A” on that order.

yes being x plan you might get a little less attention, but you are asking some pretty basic stuff.

I think the Ford email can only be dated the date that Ford effectively has your email address, but all future communications will be properly dated. May be a long wait until you get a scheduling notice from Ford depending upon build components. But only 6 in front of you is pretty good if they have a monthly allocation of 10 from Ford. If their monthly allocation is only 2, not so good, BUT if Ford does not have parts for the top 2 from the dealer Ford keeps going down that dealers list until it finds an order Ford has parts to build - even if it is all the way to the last order. If none, and dealer has no new orders come in during that allocation month that Ford has parts to build, that allocation goes to another dealer. Don’t know if those are ever recaptured by the dealer but you would think so.

For specific date tour rig was ordered versus what is on your email, you can call ford customer service - the # is on the strings entitled “non scheduled supers..,” and/or “order status 2022 super…”

ps, Ford has no interest in whether you get x plan or not - that is between you and your dealer. However, if your dealer indicates you have no x plan, complaining to Ford about bad business practices might help. A lot of bad apple dealers are pulling a lot of crappy stuff theses days.

if everything goes to xx with your order, talk to the folks at Granger Ford - the contact info is on the “2% Below Invoice” thread. If on east coast, there is a PA dealer said to be offering 3%, but I have no experience with them. Both are more than $1k below x plan for most builds. If you are getting x plan stay where you are because you would be at the back of the line by a good 30 days worth of orders.

good luck.

I never got an email from Ford. Occasionally my salesman would call with an update. I was able to track the progress of the build though the spreadsheet on this forum and ford websites. The most up to date came from the salesman. Got the truck 2 days ago. Frustration is the name of the game. I took 3 months to get truck built.

Thanks for feedback so far. Turns out dealer never put my email in the order and they corrected that today and I got the automated email from Ford a few minutes after. I put my info into the "2022 Unscheduled Super Duty List" thread today. I asked the manager at the dealer to run the vehicle visibility report to see if I was "unscheduled clean" but he said he couldn't see anything which I'm sure isn't true. I've seen posts about spray in bedliner being an issue to getting scheduled, anyone know of any truth behind that?

I ordered an F350 today and immediately got 2 emails from Ford, the dealer purchase order has my x-plan price on it and the salesman even hand wrote that the order was x plan on it.
