Recently my F100 has started to stutter/stall upon acceleration from a stop, mostly after warm up, as well as stuttering when cruising.
I did a bit of looking around, and one of the common culprits was either too much slop between the idle screw and the accelerator pump (creating a dead space where the carb is sucking in air with no fuel), or too much engagement (fuel floods into the carb when barely touched).
I adjusted the idle mixture screw and the accelerator pump to have little play, which seemed to help somewhat, but once it reaches operating temps, it still happens occasionally (thought it is somewhat better).
So now my thoughts go to the actual accelerator pump, vacuum leak, coils, wires, fuel filter(s), timing etc. (based on what I'm reading), but I'm not sure which diagnostic path to take in terms of most probable vs least probable.
Idle screws will not impact your engine performance under load. Can you give a bit more info on your situation and your setup? Likely a carb issue as you suspect but a little more info will will help. Year, engine, carb and when you notice the hesitation/stutter/stall.
Initial suggestion is to get the truck warmed up and then check your choke. Is it wide open?
While in there, check that your fuel flow is strong.
