April 2023's Chat and BS thread...or is it a April fools joke?
Yes this is actually the April 2023 chat and BS thread. No joke here, this is the thread for real. I am starting it now, to avoid any later confusion.
April Fools' Day or All Fools' Day is an annual custom on 1 April consisting of practical jokes and hoaxes. Jokesters often expose their actions by shouting "April Fools!" at the recipient. Mass media can be involved with these pranks, which may be revealed as such the following day. Although the origins of April Fools’ is unknown, there are many theories surrounding it.A disputed association between 1 April and foolishness is in Geoffrey Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales (1392).[3] In the "Nun's Priest's Tale", a vain **** Chauntecleer is tricked by a fox on "Since March began thirty days and two, 32 days since March began, which is 1 April. However, it is not clear that Chaucer was referencing 1 April since the text of the "Nun's Priest's Tale" also states that the story takes place on the day when the sun is "in the sign of Taurus had y-rune Twenty degrees and one," which would not be 1 April. Bla bla bla
An April Fools' Day prank in Boston's Public Garden warning people not to photograph sculptures, as light emitted will "erode the sculptures" A common prank is to carefully remove the cream from an Oreo and replace it with toothpaste, and there are many similar pranks that replace an object (usually food) with another object that looks like the object, but tastes different such as replacing sugar with salt and vanilla frosting with sour cream.
Other examples of genuine news on 1 April mistaken as a hoax include:

Other examples of genuine news on 1 April mistaken as a hoax include:
- 1 April 1946: Warnings about the Aleutian Island earthquake's tsunami that killed 165 people in Hawaii and Alaska.[48]
- 1 April 1984: News that the singer Marvin Gaye was shot and killed the day before his 45th birthday by his father Marvin Gay Sr. (sic) on 1 April 1984.
- 1 April 1995: News that the singer Selena was shot and killed by the former president of her fan club Yolanda Saldívar on 31 March 1995. When radio station KEDA broke the news on 31 March 1995, many people accused the staff of lying because the next day was April Fools' Day.[54]
- 1 April 2004: Gmail is announced to the public by Google. Some of the announced features for the service were not considered technologically possible with the technology available in 2004.[55]
- 1 April 2005: News that the comedian Mitch Hedberg had died on 29 March 2005.[56]
- 1 April 2005: Announcement about Powerpuff Girls Z, by Aniplex, Cartoon Network and Toei Animation. The TV show was an anime adaption of the cartoon The Powerpuff Girls and the idea that a cartoon would get turned into an anime was considered very outlandish in 2005 as this was the first time it happened.[57]
- 1 April 2008: Announcement that the NationStates government simulation browser game had received a cease and desist letter from the United Nations (UN) for unauthorized usage of its name and emblem for the fictional intergovernmental organization where players (as nations) can create and vote on international law within the game world and that due to this, NationStates has now changed its version of the UN into the "World Assembly" (WA) with a different emblem. On 2 April 2008, NationStates developer Max Barry revealed that the letter from the UN was in fact real and he had actually received it on 21 January 2008 but chose only to start complying with it on 1 April to deliberately fool people into thinking the announcement was the annual NationStates April Fools prank and that because the legal action was real, the changes are permanent.[58][59]
- 1 April 2009: Announcement that the long running soap opera Guiding Light was being cancelled.

Morning folks, man was that wind crazy yesterday. I had a tree get down in the parts lot. Luckily it hung in 3 other trees and did not smack a Ford hood I had in there or a set of fenders. Well I did it again only 8 years later, I priced the Blue truck to FTE chapter member cb_13. So maybe in the future Cameron will purchase ol blue from me. And NO this is NOT a April's fool joke.
I did a ton of errands yesterday, had to get a radiator for the run around Ranger. Should put that in tomorrow. I have to make a RS run in a bit, Ed is coming along to help. Then I get to drop the rear fuel tank on his 73. And replace it on Thursday.
Dave 2 did you see the trailer info I posted yesterday (in the March thread) for you?

Happy April! Wind was crazy last night. I need to check the yard to see if we have any big limbs down.
Getting ready to head out the door to Wentzville for a track meet. We will see how timing goes. I would like to stop by BJ's and see his truck in person.
If this wind keeps up like this the meet will be miserable. Sarah might be blown of the track a time or two.

Morning all. Well the wind is kicking butt out there. It blew the SIL's hood about 20'. Once it calms down I'll go retrieve it. Sure wish he'd get off his A$$ and get out here and reassemble it. I'm sure it'll be YEARS if ever before he manages to get around to it. Temps seem to be dropping some too.
Guess I'll mess with the 56 later too.
Stay safe, post some pictures if ya get out to see Alan.

Well Ed and I made of back from a quick fast lap at RS's with the couple of small parts I needed (for FTE members) and Ed found one treasure. We are going to hold off on the dropping of his gas tank until tomorrow. He has to go look at a boat and then run to Stockton for something else. I am going to go do stuff outside.
