I REALLY dislike aftermarket sensors, actuators, electronic modules, etc. Simple mechanical things - well then maybe!
This parts availability thing might force me into it though!
I accessed FordParts.com and took a look and was "staggered" by the prices. I sure hope all these dealership web site updates that are going on right now aren't all about skyrocketing their pricing structure!
Well guess Ill bite the bullet and get the parts from Sinister. They seem to have a good following and some decent prices. As I said I remember a video that discussed real vs fake motorcraft parts based on the packaging. Just cant remember which was the fake and all the pieces are made in china to begin with but as I wrote earlier they start around $50 and go up so really it appears to be a crap shoot.
Hank85713,
Before you buy parts, have you scanned or used a monitor to see what you may have to replace? It wasn't my intent for you to throw expensive parts at your truck. What ICP/IPR values are you seeing?
moto as I initially stated no codes or anything to be found so everything is a guess at best. But I have looked around and the IPR/ICP seem to be most likely the culprits involved.
Understood. I should have been more specific when i said scanned. I was thinking monitor such as torque pro with a Bluetooth adapter and phone or tablet.
Moto no problem I am not a computer type so I wouldnt know how to use that stuff anyhow. I have a code scanner and a scanguage and neither showed anything. I never get an engine check light or anything. It just did as I described and actually felt like the trans was saying engaged it bogged so hard. The truck is 19 years old so it probably needs the parts anyhow. We are planning a trip to Tx in june/july time frame to visit daughter and family plus I have emissions test coming up in same time frame. Your help gave me a place to start looking for problems related and some answers which BTW were the most common for the same indications. The folks at sinister said its a true 04 engine not a late 3.
