Well, I didn't make this thread for help but, does this look like a crack in the head? Doesn't seem so to me. What can we use to polish or find the Crack with?
Magnafluxing or you could see your future weld boss and see if they have a spray on weld check kit. It is basically a dye/penetrant and contrast color.
Just because they test ok for cracks doesn't mean they are flat. Heat is pretty good at moving metal, especially aluminum. The heads and deck need to be checked for flatness with a precision straight edge and feeler gauges at a minimum. What kind of head gaskets does it take? Some can be very particular about the surface finish too.
I have no clue. It was a used truck that had been modified for more hp and speed. Pretty spuffy truck. I will have to get back to you on that. My brother doesn't have a phone and I don't live super close to him. I'll probably end up seeing him in the next couple days.
