The wife's 2011 is being a bit of a PITA as of late. We bought it last spring and it had factory RKE but not remote start; I purchased and installed the Ford remote start kit (this one exactly https://www.ebay.com/itm/161501215986) and had the dealer program the key. I enabled the remote start function via Forscan. It worked great up until about a month ago, now you have to be within 10-20ft of the truck most times to get it to remote start or to get the doors to lock/unlock. I put a new battery in the key fob but that didn't seem to help. To reiterate, both the remote keyless function and the remote start function are having difficulty at any distance greater than 15ft on average. Could the electronics in the key possibly be failing?
The other issue we've been having intermittently is the front 2 windows will not roll down with either the switches in the driver's door or the one in the passenger door. The rear doors still function when the front doors do not. Usually a key cycle is all it takes to get the front windows working again. I'm assuming the issue is probably in the driver's door switch? Electrical is not my thing in the slightest.
