My remote start/entry on my 2013 F250 won't work outside of 25 or 30 ft from the vehicle. On my 2011 it would work close to 100 yds away. My dealer has now idea why. Anyone run into this type of problem? Fixes?
The distance you stated is about right for the integrated key remote start/remote entry.
To change the distance you need to install a long range remote start. Ford does have this and it is interfaced with the Premier Perimeter Alarm system and then add a long range antenna and fob.
You can add one of the old style remote entry fobs for longer range lock/unlock.
This is why I prefer aftermarket ones. With mine it's a 2-way unit with an LCD display. I can start mine from within a building a thousand feet away and see right on the display if it started, if it's locked, if a door is open, or if the alarm is going off.
My 2013 F250 is doing the same thing - I used to be able to lock/unlock the doors with the remote from 30-40 yards away, now I have to be just about standing next to the truck for the remote to work (this is after replacing the PATS key battery).
Also, I've had a problem with trying to turn off the panic alarm if I accidentally set it off. The horn won't stop honking until I get into the truck and start the engine (this was happening before the lock/unlock problem started).
Is it doing it with both fobs (both the range issue and the alarm issue)?
Maybe when you changed the bsttery, either the new battery wasn't really new, or it's not sitting in the fob correctly somehow. Maybe open up the fob and re-set the battery again. Check to make sure all of the contacts are clean while you have it open.

Yeah, I've been experimenting with both fobs with the lock/unlock range issue (I'll play with the panic alarm when I'm not parked at the house and spare the neighbors).
I just replaced the batteries in both fobs but, the "new" ones I put in had been sitting in the cupboard for a couple of years. I'm going to run down to the store and get a couple of newer batteries and see if that makes a difference.
The original batteries that came with the fobs when I bought the truck were manufactured in Indonesia, now all the batteries are made in China. Chinese made batteries I have had to use in other equipment have been pretty sucky - I suspect that contributes to my problem.
If you still have problems after doing that, if it were me, I'd disconnect the car battery for a few minutes to reboot the car systems. May not solve anything, but you never know and it's an easy step to try.
