Im looking to replace the wheels on my 88 f-150. I can't seem to find 0mm offset 15x6, 7, or 8. I found one on summit racing it was a U.S. wheel but it wouldn't even ship until April and I heard bad things about summit. So I found 2 rims a 15x7 with a -7mm offset. And a 15x8 -19mm offset. How would these look on this truck? I saw the 15x8 one on a truck and it didn't stick out the wheel well but it was on a 9th gen f150. I don't know if it'd be the same on a eighth gen. Which one would look closest to factory? Im fine with them as long as they don't cause any rubbing, or stick out of the wheel well.
Here's pictures of them:
Thanks, I checked them out and the closest size I could find in the style I want is a 15x7 with a negative 6-7mm offset. Would that stay in the wheel well? And not rub?
The 15x8 looks great on these trucks and the Outlaw IIs look great on bullnose and bricknose. There's an old set I'm cleaning up on an 84 Bronco we're getting back on the road. This is with 32 11.50,, but they look great with 31 10.50 which fit better esp on 2wd. Stock wheels are 15x7.5. There is no way I'd get 7 inch wide wheels unless I had a Ranger. Never had a single problem with Summit bought a lot of stuff from them.
Either one of those wheels will work.. at least the offset is in the right direction. I had a set of 15x8 steel wheels with I think it was 3.75" backspacing that fit really well with 31" tires. If you want to use tires larger than 31" you may want to go with the -19 offset wheel for more clearance in the front while turning.
Ok, thanks I didn’t know about width being that my door jamb sticker says 15x6 wheels. But since it fits I’ll get the wider wheel, my main concern is the offset, which I’ll get a bit of offset so I can get bigger tires.
Keep 16" wheels in mind only because the selection of 15" tires isn't what it used to be. I think I ran 265/75 R16 on my old 150, which was basically the same height as the 31X10.5 but a little narrower on section width. These were US Wheels with I think the 10 hole pattern.
This is my current setup which is a 15 inch rim with 31x10.5r15. So if I get 265/75 R16 tires, and rims 16x8 or 16x7 with 0mm offset will it look like this? I can actually find a 0mm offset with 16 inch rims in the bullet hole style rims.
I found a picture of a truck with 16x8 rims with -12 offset. What would a 0mm offset look like vs -12mm?
another thing will a 3.55 tear end work with this setup? And how would mpgs be affected?
