Fuel pump upgrade wiring question

Does anyone have experience with the Holley Sniper 340 LPH fuel pump modules? How would you wire them to work like "stock" through the tank selector switch?

You'll have a difficult time using these pumps in your tank. The stock pumps pull 4-6 amps and the wiring is sized for 4-6 amps. The Holley pump pulls 16 amps at 60 psi, so maybe a little less at 40 PSI that our trucks run at. You'll probably need to run relay near the fuel pump with a dedicated 12 volt wire with 12 gauge wire to get the full potential out of the holley pump.

Have you pulled a module to see what's what in the stock setup?

It's pretty straight forward wiring wise. 2 wires to the pump, larger spade is hot & red.

(can go to a remote relay to run heavier wire)

2 wires to the sender. 1 to the sweep, 1 to the resistor.

Are you talking a drop in module or just pump?

I forgot the Holley part #s 12-357 and 12-356 are the modules I am asking about. It says on the website only a 10.4 amp draw at 13.5 volts @ 60 psi, how are you getting 16 amps Prototypemech? Do those modules need check valves or anything extra also?

I'm reading you need Part # 12-753, the 30AMP relay kit with 12awg wires, as it states in the installation instructions.
The 16amps came from the generic 340LPH holley specs.

Holley needs to get their specs "aligned". So could you make the stock tank switch, work with "stand alone" relays? Just by pulling the tank switch trigger wire/s out of the stock wiring harness and attaching them to the switched +12V on the new relays?

Yup. That's how I would do it. Just cut the wires off the FDM connector to scavage the trigger wires for the relays, and then run the power wires from the relays to the FDM.

Hey Blue,

Did you ever figure out how to mount a 340L with the factory dual tanks?

I'm in a similar boat and trying to see which plan of attack I need to look at.
