Help, I am trying to figure out what this wire connector is for, I believe it goes to the instrument cluster and controls the door ajar light and dome light as mine will not turn off when I close all the doors. It's located on the steering column before the ignition switch. I just bought the truck and someone had removed it before me. I am getting a U0155 code on the obd2 reader
I'll give you a bump, hopefully someone with an '03 has a wiring manual and can do some research for you. I didn't see anything in my '06 manual.
I actually found the wiring diagrams online however it says its the "passive anti theft transceiver " and I don't think that would make my dome light stay on and my door ajar light not come on. Not sure what to look for next
What scan tool are you using? The U0155 code is for lost communication with the Instrument Cluster. Are both HEC connectors firmly seated?
There is a guy on another forum that is going through something that is a bit similar (his dome lights aren’t working at all, radio doesn't turn off when it should, auto headlights no longer work). He has found out that a new cluster is EXPENSIVE!
You might give CircuitBoardMedics a call and discuss it with them. If it weren't for the code, I would wonder if you don't have a door switch not working. Have you tried cleaning them?
