Drip...drip...drip...interior leak!
I managed to get most of the "stuff" out of the way, so that I can drop the headliner, but then wifey came at me with some other urgent thing, so I had to leave that before I could finish....maybe tomorrow.
In the meantime, I put a big bead of grease around it on the roof....just in case it rains tonight.
Thanks for the info!
Once loosed, the antenna came off easily enough. gasket looked to be OK, but I peeled it off and put down a bead of gasket maker. A drop of blue loc-tite on the retaining bolt and back together it all went.
Replacing all the plastics and grab-handles was the toughest part of the job...including the overhead storage thingy....
She's all back together now...looks like it might rain this afternoon, so she'll get her first test...hope that did it.
Heavy rain for two days after the repair, and no sign of any drips inside.
Reflecting on this job, when I was pressing down on the antenna and it was squirting water...now that I have it tightened down properly, there isn't much "play" in it...that is to say, there is no movement when I press down on it. Prior to repairing, there was considerable up-and-down movement.
