My wife and I decided to see if we could make some progress on the 292 that's been on the back burner for a while today. We got to the timing set and realized our cam thrust plate is broken and the eccentric, etc is super rusty. Also seem to be missing a spacer according to the book. Does anyone have an extra set or a source that sells all the parts to install the timing set? (Minus the actual timing gears and chain) Crusty parts Broken thrust plate Need all these except the bolt and washer Book description
I have a 239 that is locked up and still fully assembled. I'm sure it has those parts but not sure they are the same as the 292. That book you have has a list of suppliers on the last page which may help. If the 239 parts will work, I could pul them for you.

I'm pretty sure your 239 parts would work. PM me and we can arrange shipping, payment, etc. Thank you.
Doesn't look much better than what I pulled from mine... Let me know if they clean up ok or if you think they're a lost cause. Thanks.
First side Second side
I think these parts are all useable, just pushing 70 years old. I hit the thrust plate with some 600 paper a little and sandblasted the counter weight. The thrust plate has some wear on the face from the eccentric and the bolts. the other side is quite smooth. The eccentric has a little wear but not too much. The counter weight has some pitting on both sides. Take a look and let me know. I did find a site that might give you an alternative.

Steve,
Let me know if I can help with anything else. Please do keep us posted on your engine progress. Btw, John Mummert has a list of things to be aware of when building a Y block on his website, ford-Y-block.com.
Thanks,
Lester

Will do. Thanks again Lester....
I'll probably continue posting in my build thread "picked up a 64 f100." This project has been on the back burner for a while. Need to get rolling on it when I get home from Belize in a couple weeks. Wifey has been holding the reins on big purchases until after we get back because I've bought 4 vehicles since August... Planning on putting the motor back together and finish welding the floor pans and front cab mounts once I get a better welder. Then it's easy going (relatively speaking) to put it all back together.
