Short 30 sec video will explain in next post.
I ordered this set and they say it will work on the 352.
when I install the tops sprocket, with the ridge/bump out (only way cause of the bolts for the cam) it will move the lower sprocket out some.
is that ok?
Also with bump as you can see I hope it won’t hit the timing cover etc.
*NOW, when I slide the harmonic balancer spacer on, I assume that will PUSH the lower sprocket back and OUT of alignment with the top.
Thanks again for the help. Really appreciate it.
I put the cover on and the spacer and seems fine. Couldn’t really tell if it was hitting the timing cover or not but don’t think so.
So I might be good to go.
Well here is another problem.
the pin that holds the fuel pump cam is lose and slides in/out of the new timing chain sprocket.
Didn’t have to press it in.
Any ideas.
Short video and you can see.
Thanks again
P.S. Can I put a bigger washer in the bolt to keep it from sliding out? But then again it might slide back into the block to far. I feel it hitting something behind the sprocket when I push the pin in some to see how far it goes. I don't want it dropping in the oil pan.
I would get on the horn with COMP CAM TECH before doing anything else.
Send them the video. Something wrong with the cam gear. When you put it all together, did you remove the cover to see if the cam and crank gears were in align?
Do you think the 352 is original to the truck? A couple of can drive designs over the years
.

No I did not remover the cam cover.
Not sure what to look for anyway.
Comp cams paperwork reads it will fit and made for the 352 model years as you mentioned.
Should be in-line and yes original engine in the truck. PO bough the truck new in '65.
Thanks again,
Guess I'll have to call etc.
6265 is the spacer, but the later timing gear has the spacer made as part of it, so you THROW this spacer away.
Oh so the spacer is built in to the upper gear then.
I'll look and see but I didn't see a spacer. Let me look again.
But that doesn't take car of the fuel eccentric pin.
Stand by, gonna get a pic.
Thanks again,
You have to realize that you are not working with FORD PARTS here and the vendor makes changes for one kit to cover several years of production. If the cam and crank gear do not align, send COMP the video.
6265 is the spacer, but the Ford service part replacement timing gear has the spacer made as part of it, so you THROW this spacer away.
Parts catalog says: C8AZ-6256-A .. Camshaft Sprocket - 36 teeth - 6256 spacer NOT USED
here is a picture of me pointing to what should be the space AND short video.
so this is the spacer (pointing to it) to remove so the cam gear will sit flush. Thus the space built into the gear.
So the part is obsolete? And I need to find this (C3AZ-6287-A)
73357-S .. Dowel / Obsolete
GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 205 = 800-543-4959.

What's wrong with the eccentric you have now? You already have it...because there's only one for all FE & FT engines.
C3AZ-6287-A .. Camshaft Eccentric / Obsolete
NOS PARTS SOURCE in Olathe KS has 1 = 913-220-5746.
NOS PARTS LTD in Waxahachie TX has 1 = 972-937-2201 / Note: Listed as C3AZ-6287-AX

Yes that spacer is junk and not used with the new set. Another good practice is to soak the new chain in oil prior to installing. It lowers the initial chain wear and pin galling on start up.
