Happy New Year!

we are getting a day or so to dry out before the next system is supposed to hit. Of course those on the coast are still being shaken, not stirred.

The more rain the better IMHO.

Been looking at the Pride Mobility website to see what is available to replace mine should the VA decide to go that route, and it appears that they don't sell my model anymore. They have two that look similar, however, neither one of them has the speed or range mine does. One has a 400lb capacity, and the other a 500lb capacity. They have upgraded the lighting to LED's and have added a blue color option. When mine was ordered you could get red or silver. Now it is red or blue. If the VA lets me, I will choose the blue, but I have only seen red scooters at the VA hospital ridden by other patients so maybe they only order red ones.

The disappointing thing for me is the lower speed and range. The newer models can't even do 6 mph (5.3, or 5.8 mph depending on model) And have a much lower range, 13 miles on one and 19 on the other. Mine was advertised at 25 miles when it was new. Of course, rider weight and the type of terrain make a big difference in how far they will go, and also, mine is not new anymore. I doubt mine would even go 12 miles before running out of power.

With mine being discontinued I wonder if parts are going to be unavailable? Although the tech guy didn't mention that, only that they are on back order.

I heard yesterday that the Uvas Reservoir (a relatively small one) is now overflowing.

Here is what I think

Even the smallest of good news is better than bad news or no news.

So, going on a diet will make my scooter faster, eh? LOL Easier said than done. Besides, wouldn't do any good when I go to the store and load it up with groceries. LOL still, thanks for doing the research. Might look into it if/when I get the new one, or this one refurbished.

The bomb cyclone is referring to what happens when our pineapple express (or atmospheric river) collides with the polar vortex in the middle of the country.

Technically, it refers to a specific rapid drop in the barometric pressure of a storm. The terms cyclone, typhoon, and hurricane all refer to the same type of storm- just in the Indian, Pacific, and Atlantic Oceans.
