I was servicing my locking hubs today and found the plastic split ring in the diagram below was shredded. I've been looking all day for a replacement, but can't find anything. Any ideas? Also, is it important other than centering the assembly for easier installation?
That looks like it's part of the lock-out hub. I don't anyone who sells individual parts for the lock-out hub. You have to buy the whole thing new or used at the junkyard.
It's a Dana 60 axle. I always have a hard time figuring out what's stock and what's not. Someone put time and money into beefing everything up on this truck at some point in its past, so it's always an adventure.

If it's a 1985 1/2-up f350, the dana 60 could be factory. That's when they started putting them back under the f350's only.
