I need to replace the worn Selectro hubs in my 76' F150. Can anyone tell me which hubs I need to buy (looking at Mile Marker) and how do I get the gear off that's in the middle of the hub (I assume I need to). Thanks so much! And yes, I sawed the hub bolts off, they rusted in place.
For the Mile Marker brand there looks to be two types:
1) Mile Marker Street Master, part number 302. Nylon reinforced fiberglass dial.
2) Mile Marker Supreme, part number 104. Stainless steel dial.
Both should have perty much the same internals, except for the dials.
Now to get the hub body out there is a large retaining ring just inside the hub opening, you can use two small screwdriver or small hook/pick set to get out. Then on the center shaft theres a snap ring that needs to be removed. Once thise two rings are removed the hub body shound slide out. Now would be a good opportunity to pull the wheel bearings out and repack those if there in good condition as well.
Thanks for your help Hayden01, I went out to recheck because I was just sure I didn't overlook any snap rings and sure enough I missed the biggest one. Took it out and the hub slid out fairly easily. Surprised to see the hub had "made in Taiwan" on the back of it.
