So with 2 of the top tuners for 7.3's having issues or not able to tune anymore, who are the go to guys for tuning? As Bitterroot mentioned Gearhead what are the other top tuners? I was hoping to switch to AA but I also haven't gotten a call back.
So over many years of messing with tuning Jody at DP has been the easiest and very helpful with tuning adjustment’s. Only issue is he wants to charge for every little adjustment. Which I can see if there are many revisions. AA tuning is good as well. Lifetime revisions save us money but that also takes a lot of time on the tuners end when people ask for tons of revisions at no charge so it’s a double edge sword.
I do have AD/80% in the 1973. This is my second set over the years as I sold the first set to another guy a few years ago. I love them because they take very little tuning to maintain stock everything except they make really good power when pushed hard. I may get another set for my 2001 CCLB ex-dually but it's running ABs right now and it runs fine the way it is although it's pretty lethargic on stock tuning....nope, I haven't done anything to the tuning other than flash the PCM to a CKX0 with the addition of the automatic exhaust brake. The Crown Vic is running stock AAs on a PMT2 (also with exhaust brake). There is no reason whatsoever to go anything bigger than 90cc as the car is fast enough as is with 215-ish HP and I don't need any excuse to break stuff.
I'll be taking the 250/200% out of the 2000 sometime this winter and going back to 160/100% since I use it a lot these days for towing duty.....and not that it doesn't run well when towing with 200% nozzles, it just doesn't like running the same from day to day and the inconsistency drives me up the wall.
