Transmission clank

new to this page so here goes, gonna be long and you won’t believe it.
I’ve got a 2016 F-250 77,000 miles, extended warranty til 106,000. Had famous clunk noise when coming to a stop, 2nd to first every time. Went to dealer, dealer says oh no that’s not supposed to do that, I said good and left it with them. Two weeks go by, they call and say it’s fixed, needed a reprogram, never left the parking lot, still doing the same thing, turned around went back in test drove with service manager, his words, oh hell thought we fixed it. Left it another week, replaced solenoid. Picked up truck, never left the parking lot, test drove with service manager, his words, oh hell thought we fixed it. Left it with them again, 3 months total transmission rebuild. Picked the truck up, you guessed it, never left the parking lot same issue. Dealer had engineer come down, 😂 engineer said put a new (remanufactured) transmission in it, so they did. 4-1/2 months, replaced every part in the original transmission, installed a reman. Transmission, you guessed it, still have same clunk coming to a stop. Dealer
said I would just have to live with it. I’ve driven 20 of these trucks and can’t find another one that does it. Any body found a fix yet. I hear and feel
it no matter if windows are up, radio on, window down, all the time.

I was having a similar problem and the fix was to lube the splines where the drive shaft connects to the rear differential.

No carrier Bearing.

I put the white ford Teflon grease on the drive shaft spline to transmission, noise is coming from the front

One thing I would try is get a bottle of friction modifier and put it in the rear end, I would start with 4 oz first if you have a limited slip rear end. Sticking clutches in the rest end can cause what you are feeling because they will unload when coming to a stop.

Bad remanufactured parts are common nowadays. You have the warranty, take it back and tell them to fix it. Every shop receives bad parts (even new OEM) and the wait is long. This is what happens when manufacturers and suppliers shut down for COVID.

not make the clunk/clank noise if the truck is in Neutral when coming to a stop, thanks
