So the old 6.0 has been having a issue the past year 5 Celsius or colder it’ll start die then long crank, I’ve put 8 glow plugs in, a control module and new wiring as well as inspected/fixed the connectors to gp module. I can’t remember how many gp codes were showing but I think it was still 1/2 or more but when tested they are getting power and are new. So another issue I’m having is the cluster intermittent issues with these fords, the question is will the cluster affect more than just a window, gauges and radio? If not should I see about getting a new module because this was cheapest motor craft one on Amazon or rock auto.
It starts normal when plugged in up to -15c but in the fall there was times it was around 4 and it would start, run till it idles down to 250-300 for 15 seconds then dies, almost like a 7.3 getting its fuel bowl drained, a good minute or two of cycling gp and cranking it would start, smoke black as Toby’s a then clear up after a minute.
How many of these Fords do you have? Have you tested each individual glow plug and its circuit (even though they are new and so is the wiring, you could still have a failure in one or two of them)?
IMO the cheapest (and probably the best) solution to Instrument Cluster issues is to send it off to CircuitBoardMedics

Have had a 92 idi, 1994.5 7.3 ps the non obd (worst of its kind), 2001 7.3, 04 6.0, then this 06 in 2018, one year not a single issue then it became a full blown 6.0 and dumped every little issue it could since. F’n thing goes down the highway still, with a wicked vibration as soon as the pedal is touched rolling down a hill, but it’s one of those can’t sell it there’s to much of my sweat, skin and blood under the hood.
