Had the Glowsteps on our Glacier Peak where the door was at the rear of the unit which at times made it very difficult for the DW to get in and out easily. One thing to keep in mind is that they come in 3 step, 4 step and maybe even 5 step configuration. With the added steps over your 3 step and the adjustments available, you should be able to comfortably enter and exit any site you set up at.

Safe Travels!

Mike

For those with the glowsteps, is there any 'shopping around' for the best deal or all they all at a set price?

I’m hoping that they’ll go on sale between now and the beginning of camping season, really liking the looks of them but the idea of buying 2 more sets of steps for my 5th wheel makes my stomach sick lol. I wish I would have seen these 2 years ago when I bought the LCI steps I have on there now but no going back at this point.

I like that Scott. I'm going to do that with my Glowsteps. Very good idea.

My apologies if this has been mentioned in previous posts, but I may have an alternative option for you in mind. As Back2Gas? mentioned in post #2, there are 4 step versions of the 3 step set you have now. We installed the 4 step version on our Montana 5th wheel years ago and preferred the aluminum vs the steel steps. We ended up selling that 5th wheel and downsized a bit due to our method of use and roads/terrain we traverse.

With our current 5th wheel, the 3 step version has been more than adequate as the entry door is not as high as it was in the Montana. That said, we have an aluminum folding step (much like yours) that we travel with just in case we need it. During the past 4+ years of owning the new to us 5th wheel, we have not needed to use it. Maybe we are good at picking the parking spot or maybe just lucky?

The Glowstep setup is nice and seems to very versatile and stable. Although, we were offered a set for our 5th wheel during a promotional campaign and ended up turning down the offer. We were very grateful for the offer and expressed our gratitude to the company and asked them to pass the offer along to another RV'r. We felt the Glowstep was not right for our use based on how much travel, how far we travel and the areas we travel to with our trailer. It was a vast improvement over the fold up steps that go into the living space that some campers come with. Those are a deal breaker for us, unless we were willing to swap them out for the under the RV folding style like OEM.

It is nice to see the Glowstep working out for so many people and to this day we still appreciate the offer and have sent some of our business to the company that made the offer. We sent our feedback to them regarding why we turned the product down and they appreciated the feedback and wished us safe travels.

Since then, we were informed of a small product that fortifies the step and minimizes the "bounce" aspect of steps that are not "grounded" like the Glowsteps are. We purchased the product and we are very pleased with it. We don't deploy the stabilizers unless we are stopped for 24 hours or more which keeps the OEM folding steps quick access and easy to close or open based on our travel style and/or schedule.

Either way, you should be able to remove the 3 step sets and sell them locally on BookFace or CraigsLost to recoup some coins. There are options available to you and it is great that we can take time and decide what suits our needs the best for our specific application.

The Lipppert product we purchased is linked and pictured below.

Sous, good write up. Our 3 step version came with that solid stance and it was very nice to have at times. I may be able to salvage it if we go to the 4 step version...
