TRQ hubs

Good morning everyone!

Is anyone running the TRQ wheel bearing and hub assembly from 1AAuto?

https://www.1aauto.com/ford-front-dr...03/844209/2003

I see most people are suggesting Timken but these are a budget friendly option that I am curious about. I put a TRQ steering knuckle/ hub assembly from them on our 2011 escape and they seem to be ok.

I bought a set of TRQ front hubs in January of 2018 when I suspected the passenger front bearing was going out. I bought these on a strict budget at the time and on the recommendation of FTE'r @00Dave had a positive experience with them. I see they still have a lifetime warranty, so there is that if you are into that sort of thing.

I see 00Dave has not been active for just over a month on the FTE.

Don't know, but the OEM ones are pretty weak.

Don't have them on my truck yet but I did put a set on my Jeep a few years ago, and after 4 seasons of beating on it off road with plenty of mud and water on 35" tires they started to get a little bit of play in them, I emailed 1Aauto about it and they had a new set to my front door 3 days later. When it comes time to replace the ones on my truck I wouldn't hesitate to get the TRQ ones, for right now the cheap Driveworks ones from Advance that I put on about 6-7 years ago are still holding up fine with 35s.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up getting them and installing them last week. They seemed decent. Only real complaint I had when I got them was one box was opened and the mounting studs were taken out. Purchased another set from O'rielly and 1Aauto refunded me the cost of the new studs. I didn't feel like trying to remove the old studs since I don't have a vice at the moment.

I had replaced them because I knew the driver's side had some rust/ debris from a bad knuckle seal and sounded pretty gritty when turning them by hand. I ran them for about a year and a half after replacing the seal. Thought I had a little bit of play in the driver's side one and the passenger side was tight. Swapped them both for the TRQ and have the same issue, a little play in the driver's side and the right is fine. Not sure whats going on with that. Ball joints checked out ok.

Seemed like I had some wobble in the front end on Friday after replacing them. Truck sat all weekend and I drove it again today and it seems ok other than a little vibration. I'm running the centramatic balancers so maybe something is going on with them.

The only other issue I really had was torquing the castle nut on the tie rod and it wouldn't line up with the hole at 67 ft lbs so they are torqued to about 77. Is that a problem?

I had to redo the entire front end a few years ago due to the fact that the sealing surface on the spindles failed and water got into the front bearing both sides. New drive axles, seals, hubs, etc. Was thankful I had a wholesale account for that one!
I never heard the typical bad wheel bearing howl, just an occational mysterious vibration coming up through the steering wheel that would come and go without any sort of pattern to it.
