Manic, this thing has a milder cam in it. Eventually when I pull the motor it will get a roller. I haven't decided which cam yet. But I have decided it will be a custom ground one. There are several companies I have read great things about.

Dave, that is fantastic thank you! That is a significantly cheaper price than I found them for. I have no problem paying for parts that will last. 20 years in a monster truck equals a few lifetimes in mine!
My monster truck customer ran two trucks a lot of the time so having the engines be low maintenance was very important. We would freshen them once a year generally and usually lash would get checked once or twice during that time. I tried to keep the spring loads moderate, 250 seat and about 700lbs open and they would get turned to 7000rpm most of the time and 7500 once in a while.
The only real trouble with the Yella Terra rocker arms is sometimes it can be tough to find them in the US. That place in the link that I posted seems to be about the best place to order a set.
I used a set a few years ago on a set of DOVE-C heads that were on a 545 for a 4 wheel drive application. That engine has a hydraulic roller cam and since they bolt down solid the are great for that application because the hydraulic roller puts the pushrod out of plane. At the same time I built another hydraulic roller 545 with D3VE heads and on that engine I used the non adjustable Scorpion pedestal mount rockers which also worked just fine. I don't think that Scorpion makes a rocker that's both adjustable and will bolt down using a 7/16 bolt. If they do they would be less expensive than the Yella Terra.
The last 400 I built was in 1998. I've been stock piling parts while currently deployed for this build. I have a Holley Sniper, Hyperspark, and these trick flow heads already. The plan is to pull the motor, check the specs and order some pistons from Tim M, along with some other bits and pieces from him. Then let my boys drive the snot out of it. I really appreciate the help.

Don't have a thing against them. Thats why I suggested them in post #6. You could have just said that's what I'm looking for and we would be done typing. Unsubscribed.
