Used roller rockers?

Quick question, guys,Got a fellow that will sell me a slightly used set of Crane gold 1.6 roller rockers for small block Ford. The price is good, much less than the $300+ of a new set. Is it safe to reuse roller rockers? I'm also wanting to reuse the original hydraulic roller lifters that came in the motor. They will go on a set of GT40P heads that I just got back from the machine shop and will get new pushrods and cam in a '95 351W.Also, should I use the pushrod braces/brackets that I see mentionrd? This is a carbed, 6000 rpm max street truck engine of about 300-350 hp. Will pushrod stiffeners really help in such a low rpm engine? Thanks,Rob

Roller rockers that have not been abused can live for a long time. I have a spare set with 74,000 miles that I wouldn't hesitate to use in my hot rodded motor. However not knowing the exact history would make me suspect.

Hardened pushrods and guide plates are "usually" required for roller rockers.

GT40 heads use pedistal mount rockers.. like all stock SBF heads, so guideplates and hardened pushrods are not required. Used roller components like rockers and lifters are fine to reuse in a different motor.. assuming thay are not damaged, you'll want to be sure the rockers you are buying are pedistal mount not stud mount.

Great!

Thanks, guys.

I believe he did say that they were pedestal mount. I will examine them much more closely when I go back over, now that I know they are usable.
