rebuilt my motor and dropped it in. even without the starter installed, i can't get the long flowtech headers to fit on the passenger side. won't slide down between the motor and the frame. can't bring it up from the bottom. what the heck. anybody have any insight on this? hate to go to shorties? thanks
Bummer to hear.
Have you tried the other side yet, just to see if anything fits? How far off are they?
Got pics?
Do they even make shorties for this application?
Sanderson maybe?
A lot of questions on my part. Sorry about that. Just wondering if the ones you have are even correct because there aren’t many headers for high boys I’m guessing.
One more question. If they are pretty close to fitting, any chance tilting the engine differently might turn the tide?
As 1Ton said, are you sure you have the right headers for 70 F26? Flow Tech makes them Part # 12542FLT Black and Part # 32542FLT Ceramic but are not the same as the F10, F11 or F25 and you can tell by the llarge gap on the passenger header for the engine perch. I'm just asking as most can get them in but struggle with minor clearance issues at the passenger frame rail and the crossmember next to the bell housing. Best fitting non shorties are Tri Y Long Tubes from FPA. Ford Powertrain Applications More coin than the FlowTech units though but have a ball fitting and not a flange which is easier to work with. Shorties as 1Ton said Sanderson
