If doing the online and wallmart thing works for you, great....I'm just explaining why I don't consider price only when making a purchase. Cheers
Don't know about that as to whether it really works or not. Not sure they can actually slip it in any faster. Now I have found it hand to get a tech to do it on the side but as far as regular hours go, they can't easily bump someone without a lot of problems. No matter what they say.

Online works for me. Wallmart, actually Wal*Mart doesn't really work for me when it comes to food that isn't branded or their own line.

Part is exactly the same whether it comes of my shelf or someone elses. I encourage my customers to buy the cheaper parts from somewhere else to save them money. No love lost between us as its just business.

I also deal with many equipment dealers for the other business I own. I have a great repour with all my local dealers even though I never bought a single piece of equipment from any of them, only parts. I live two states away from a state with no sales tax. I purchase every piece of equipment out of state and use the locals for warranty service and parts. They know this and dont treat me any different than other customers that purchase everything from them. Noone is special we are all professionals and adults, its all business.
What is a good service advisor. Is it just like a regular service advisor except they buy you dinner when they tell you to pound sand?

They reach around after giving you the bill?

One other aspect of the dealer is their service. For the most part I have had good service. For a while it was in a slump with a personnel change, but they corrected that and have had good service since. In fact, even though I did not buy my current truck from them, I just walk in and get things done right way. In fact just got off the phone scheduling the camera replacement for this Friday. We know each other on a first name basis. I was there a week prior to last, asked if they were covered under the certified warranty, told him the front was fogging the the passenger was blanking out. Took my word for it and ordered the cameras.

They also know my history that I used to be a mechanic and can do a lot of this myself if I choose to, and would not try any upsell BS either. This is why I stick to this one dealer, even if I can save $500 on a car from someone else. They know me, they know how I purchase and never try to upsell and automatically add the GAP into the price since they know I will want it.

Never finance without GAP, worth EVERY Penny!!!

OK. I get that too even when they don't know me personally or buy from them. I just got cameras replaced when I asked about the one. I also got my suspension refreshed and ended up paying for a couple of parts because I was using aftermarket. I bought from Carmax in Chicago and got work done in Milwaukee. So unless paying more gets me more than the regular guy, I need to know why I would pay more.

So what if they try to upsell? I don't even notice that. Just like drugs, just say "NO". I get that at every place I go and am fine with it. Why? If the employees are not upselling, I wonder if their management even cares about the P&L or knows what it is.

That depends on the vehicle value, and the amount financed. There are plenty of buyers who put enough down to make GAP useless and a complete waste of money. I had no reason to even consider GAP on my 2019, the dealer even knew that. When I have been quoted on GAP in the past, my insurance provider always came in cheaper than the dealer.
