I need to replace my neutral safety switch on my '78 F250 Ranger XLT with it's C6 & 460. One of my questions is 'is there any difference in quality of brands in you folks experience with these'?
Another question is 'is it better to stick with the one in the picture, or is there a better design? I see one which is listed as a "neutral/reverse safety switch"? Hmm???
Thank you again for your help!
You already have THAT part, AND it is a Ford part, why not just use it? Only thing better than a used Ford part is a NEW Ford part. If that part (NOS) is even available. If not, reproduction part time. Have you confirmed that part is good?
I would try to fix what you got. More than likely it's just the spring broke inside. A ball point pen spring will work. Drill out the pins, then you can use small self taping screws to put it back together.
