I used my remote start on my 2012 f350 a few times and it seems like it was messing up my ac. It would blow hot. Or out of the defrost vents. I quit using the remote start and have t had any issues knock on wood. Anybody else run into issues like this?
Is this the factory in the key remote start? The factory system will do whatever it can to return the interior temp to what it sensed it was on last shutdown. When you get in and turn your key it should return to whatever setting you have made on control panel.
Yes it is the factory key. I would use the remote start and then when I get in the vehicle and put the key in and turn it on is when everything screws up. The ac shuts off and then it’s a crap shoot as to what it’s going to do. I quit using the remote start and haven’t had any issues with the ac since.
Seems odd it acts crazy, mine is just whatever the last temp was even after winter storage. I'm a type that needs a window cracked open and some fresh air, so if I store in the fall and heat is cranked to like 80 so I have warm toes. Next spring fire it up on a nice spring morning, yep it's cranking it up to 80 on remote start. Works for me after I understood it's limitations. The limitation I can't understand is needing an oil change reminder after hibernation for 6 months and less than 10 miles on last reset and change. I don't understand but live with it.
