Remote start?

Will be ordering an xl/stx with sync3 and would like remote start, will I be better off with the old fashion key fob from the factory or the ford pass and use smart phone ? It seems like theres a monthly charge if I use ford pass is that correct?

Yes there is a subscription to Fordpass. You have to ask yourself how you will use it...Will it be from the house to the driveway or will you be out of range of the key fob? If you will generally be out of range then the Fordpass is the way to go, if not, why pay...

I'd go factory...

Because you are going XL/STX will have to use the key to unlock and start the truck no matter what remote start option you use.

Personally I would hate having to mess around with my phone and then find my keys every time I wanted to remote start. FWIW I have a XL/STX with remote start and have good range, works from my house every day.

Yes it does. Here’s a screen shot of my Ford Pass app this morning, for my 2019 F350 Lariat PSD.

Is that new to the '19's or can i make my '18 do this?

My buddys '18 XLT 150, does everything on the app off his phone, my '18 Lariat completely loaded does NOTHING!!!
I am a bit bitter about that

i know there are differences between FordPass capabilities for displayed items between 2018-2019 F350s. My friends 2028 doesn’t display TPMS pressures where mine does.

The 18 SD's don't have the same options on the app as the 19's do or basically every Ford vehicle in 18 did for some reason.
